Gothic Wedding

A gothic couple have become the first in the UK to have their wedding blessed in a graveyard.
Samantha Smyth, 25, and husband Paul Adams, 33, had originally planned to marry at the unlikely venue but realised it would mean their marriage was not legally recognised.
They later decided to fulfil their dream by having a blessing in their local cemetery eight months after their ’legal wedding’ in a traditional registry office.

okay, i’m only a mere 14 year old girl and I have been gothic for more than a year. But everyone I know thinks that you have to be depressed. I tell them that you don’t but they won’t listen; even my friends who are emo and skater call me a poser sometimes! I read everything you said and you prove my point. But they still make fun of me and it has me worried. Am i a poser but I just dont know it? I mean I can have really fun and happy moments buts just because i have a life! What do you think?

Yes, you can and should be happy gothic. you dont have to be depressed just to justify that you are a goth.

people will always use stereotypes to label other people. i dont think that you should try and convince them that you are happy or act depressed just because they expect it from a gothic person.

The best thing to do it to live your life as you want to live it. dont care about what other people are saying about you and dont try to prove anything just live your gothic life in your own special way, and those who dont understand dont deserve to be your true friends.

Do you believe the gothic society to be a subculture set apart?
The Gothic Society itself, whether of Canada, Switzerland, or
wherever, is in a way set apart from a subculture which is set apart,
except not really because to be set apart we’d have to live behind walls
and there’s an element of reaction rather than proaction in our looks and
attitudes so we can’t really claim to be set apart but who can except of
course objectivists but the beliefs of objectivists ultimately are flawed
in that they view people as reacting physcially, like atoms which don’t
(generally) change because of the way they respond to one another and not
chemically, as entities which do change when they interact and as eery
educated person knows much of what makes up our personalities biochemical
having sources and influences in everything from diet to how much we were
cuddled as children to subliminal messages in Mariah Carey songs so I
don’t hink anyone can answer your question truthfully because truth is
itself subjective, even the truth about what we perceive to be our own
subjective beliefs.

For the reasons above I can’t say whether I do or don’t believe that and I
can’t say where I think it’s heading because in my mind I see it as a
supernova speading itself in all directions at once as fast as it can
whizz so it always heads everywhere at once although the inertia of the
galaxy in which it finds itself may of course cause it to move with that
galaxy although it would of course have a very difficult time ever
perceiving such motion without the aid of some very sophisticated and
expensive instruments whose perceptions medieval thinkers explained fairly
well with hypotheses of great glass domes with holes in them and the like
besides which there is always the chance that some great force merely
causes us to get the input which has led us to all our astrophysical
knowledge so wen you extend the analogy the question becomes impossible to
answer.

I just don’t like being called a gothic because everyone I know around here
takes that to mean that I’m a devil worshipper, I always wear all black
(or always have to), I only go out at night, I think I’m a vampire, I wear
weird makeup, I molest little kids and kill small pets, and that I listen
to Marilyn Manson (all frequent comments and questions that I hear).
It’s too limiting to me. I respect people who can call themselves gothic,
but I simply cannot handle being placed in a subculture. I’m a little bit
of everything really. I have a lot of different influences in my life,
and I hang out with a lot of different sorts of people and participate in
their activities. That’s just how I am.

Vampires in a Bar

It’s Halloween and everyone’s out trick-or-treating. A bartender is working the late-night shift at the bar. He looks outside and sees everyone in crazy costumes. He sighs and picks up a glass and starts cleaning it.

At around midnight, a guy in a vampire costume walks in and sits at the bar. He says to the bartender “Hi. I’m a vampire and I’d like a cup of human blood please.”

The bartender looks at him skeptically. “No you’re not. You’re just wearing a costume.”

“No, no, really,” he insists. “I’m a vampire and I’d like a cup of human blood please.”

“Alright,” the bartender says. He goes in the back and comes out with a cup of blood. He gives it to the vampire who drinks it right away.

“Thanks,” he says, and leaves.

An hour later another vampire comes in and sits at the bar. He says “Hi, I’m a vampire and I’d like a cup of human blood please.”

“Okay,” the bartender says and goes in the back again. He comes out with another cup of blood. He gives it to the vampire who drinks it and leaves with a ‘thanks’.

An hour later a third vampire comes in and sits at the bar. “Hi,” he says to to the bartender. “I’m a vam…”

“I know, I know,” the bartender interrupts. “You’re a vampire and you want a cup of blood right?”

“Um, no,” the vampire answers. “I AM a vampire, but I’d just like a glass of hot water please.”

“Sure” the bartender says. He pours him a glass of hot water. As he gives it to the vampire he says “You know, there were two vampires that came in before you that wanted blood. How come you’re just asking for water?”

Without answering the vampire reaches into his pocket and pulls out a used band-aid.

“Tea time.”

Gothic People Graveyards

My friend called me up at work and asked me if I wanted to go out to a
nearby cemetery for a picnic. I thought it sounded good so I agreed. I
got out of work at around 9:30 and we headed out to the graveyard.
Because I was working the closing shift, I had brought my Corpus Delecti
CD for music (much to the dismay of most of my fellow coworkers…heh)
and, not having any pockets large enough to hold the CD, I stuffed it
inside my jacket.
   Now the cops were particularly visible around the cemetery that evening
(probably because of the full moon…beautiful night to go skulking) and
this made it difficult for my friend and I to venture into the really cool
part of the cemetery (it’s just beyond a bridge that the police were
parked directly in front of…boo hoo). Dissapointed, we left and went to
another, less heavily guarded graveyard. The next morning, I realized
that my CD was nowhere to be found!
   “Argh!” I bemoaned (or something), “I lost my Corpus Delecti CD!”
   Well, to make a long story short, after work on Monday, my friend and I
travelled to the cemetery and found my wayward disc in front of tombstone,
its plastic jewel case dotted with dew from the grass.
   Needless to say, I was filled with joy. That night, we went out
dancing at Zootz for Funeral Night…DJ Fred played nearly all the songs I
requested and we found out that Xtian Death’s tour will be making a stop
in our lovely little city. Squee…
   The End.
